Somatic Therapy uses mind-body techniques to release the pent-up tension that's weighing on your emotional and physical well-being. These techniques could involve breathing exercises, meditation, dance, and other forms of body movement. These sessions help you in relieving stress, tension, anxiety and various traumas through guided breath work, movement ( Yoga, Stretch ) and self touch. Somatic Therapy will lower cortisols, regulate the nervous system, stimulate vagal and parasympathetic activity that helps regulate stress responses, self-soothing touch may invoke feelings of self-induced safety, intentionality, and mindfulness.” Secretion of oxytocin .
